If you find it difficult to plan meals when trying to lose weight, try using an artist’s palette. Think about what will make your plate more colorful and you will find that you eat healthier, take in less calories and drop more pounds! The result? Faster and longer lasting weight loss.

Color Affects Your Mood

Did you know that color affects your mood? If you are having a hard time maintaining motivation for your weight loss plan, think about color coding your plate. Color has a proven effect on your mood, so the more colorful your plate the happier you will be about eating foods like beets, carrots, asparagus, and wax beans.

Color Fights Cancer

Another benefit of eating a colorful diet is that colorful foods fight cancer. These foods contain phytonutrients which give them their luscious color. These nutrients naturally fight cancer, so fill your plate with colorful fruits and vegetables like blueberries, tomatoes, squash, and zucchini for cancer fighting properties.

Color Prevents Blindness

Many foods we eat are beneficial in fighting eye diseases. These foods come in beautiful orange colors like pumpkins, carrots, and sweet potatoes. They are also low in calories and fat.

Color Prevents Aging

One more benefit to coloring your plate for weight loss results is that it can prevent aging. There are many foods which actually provide the nutrients necessary to keep your skin looking young and fresh. These foods include purple and blue foods like plums, eggplants, and purple cabbage.

White is not a Weight Loss Color

Get in the mindset that white is not really a color. Foods like pasta, white rice, and potatoes are white. They will add no color to your artist’s plate. Try to avoid them, or at least use their brown counterparts like whole grains for weight loss like pasta, brown rice, and colorful potatoes like the purple or red ones.

Colors of the Weight Loss Rainbow

You may think that you eat healthy if you fill your body with one of two colors of the rainbow at each meal, but this is not sufficient. You should concentrate on creating meals that contain four or five colors. Count your colors on your plate, because anything less than four is unsatisfactory when it comes to your health and losing weight.
