Satisfy Your Sweet Tooth

Satisfy Your Sweet Tooth

If you plan on having successful weight loss by going on a sweet free diet, chances are your plans will fall short of their goals. Even if you don’t have a sweet tooth naturally, there are most likely certain treats that you enjoy. Diets that rule out satisfying your sweet tooth set you up for failure.

However, you do not have to overindulge in order to satisfy your sweet tooth. Instead, reduce your intake of sweets and treats and also challenge yourself to come up with alternative crave-satisfying snacks and desserts.

If you are working on weight loss then you really should reconsider that piece of chocolate fudge cake. However, if you are truly craving it then you may need to give in and have just a sliver of it for a satisfactory taste. Of course, by coming up with alternative sweets, you can trick yourself into being satisfied with a healthier low calorie treat.

Sweet Weight Loss Substitutes

For example, instead of giving in and eating that sliver of chocolate fudge cake, try a diet chocolate shake instead. You can actually drink more of the shake, getting more chocolate satisfaction while consuming fewer calories.

Next time you are watching a movie, try a low calorie treat that can trick your sweet tooth instead of buttery popcorn. A caramel popcorn cake is crunchy, sweet, and salty and only has about 40 to 50 calories.

Fruit is always a sweet treat and can be eaten in a variety of ways. You can make a fruity drink, enjoy a fruit salad, top it on your yogurt, or just eat it plain. It is sweet and low in calories and makes a great breakfast, snack, or dessert. Applesauce substitutions are great in recipes.

Fruit and Chocolate

To really give in to your sweet tooth, you can always eat fruit that has been dipped in dark chocolate. Strawberries and bananas are easy to dip, the dark chocolate is rich in antioxidants so it has a health benefit, and the overall calories remain low.

You can also eat a snack of dark chocolate and almonds for a sweet and crunchy treat. The tastes complement each other nicely and you get the health benefits of both while still indulging in a sweet snack.

It is not hard to satisfy your sweet tooth. Just give in a little when you need to in order to avoid falling off the weight loss wagon.
