Quench Your Appetite

 

To achieve weight loss you need to eat regularly throughout the day. This weight loss tip does not encourage you to skip a meal, but there is something to be said about curbing your appetite. You can quench your appetite by drinking a glass of water 30 minutes before mealtime.

Water and Weight Loss

Water is necessary for survival. Without water you cannot even breathe. So drinking water every day is important for your health. However, water can also help you with your weight loss. Water has a way of filling you and so the very act of drinking water can help you eat less.

Although you should drink water throughout the day, it is helpful for weight loss if you drink water 30 minutes before you eat. This gives your brain time to receive the signal that you have consumed something so that your stomach begins to start feeling full.

By the time you sit down to eat your meal, your appetite will be curbed and you will become satiated sooner so that you don’t eat everything on your plate. You can also sip water during your meal so that you can clear your palette, keep your mouth moist, and continue to aid in the satiation process.

Benefits of Water

If you drink soda during your meal you will probably get full fast also. However, soda contains empty calories, which means they are digested quickly by your body and will not help you stay full. Instead of leaving room for healthy calories that will help you with weight loss, soda will fill you up with a false sense of satiation, leading you to overeat later.

There are additional benefits to drinking water other than just weight loss. Water is used by your body for many essential reasons, such as breathing, nutrient transport, and detoxification. Water can also help you keep your skin from wrinkling prematurely and reduce the likeliness of blemishes.

Since water has zero calories and no additives, there is no reason not to enjoy approximately eight glasses of water a day. The only important note about water is not to consume an excessive amount of water very quickly. This could lead to water intoxication and can be fatal.

However, sipping approximately 64 ounces of water throughout the day is a great way to keep your water level in balance, optimize your health, and aid in your weight loss.
