Healthy, Low-Fat Soups are a Dieter’s Delight

 

Here’s a weight loss tip for anytime of year: try eating more soup! Soup is a great way to fill up on flavor, but not on fat and calories. Soup also makes you feel full without having to eat a lot of it. Eating soup can help you meet your weight loss goals and with the following recipes, soup does not have to be boring or come out of a can!

Easy Pumpkin Soup

Making soup does not have to be hard or time consuming. Here’s a simple recipe that is healthy, easy, contains only three ingredients, and can be served hot or cold. Simply mix one can of pumpkin, throw in some pumpkin pie seasoning, and one cup of skim milk. You can heat the mixture over the stove or serve as prepared above.

Cool Cucumber Soup

How about eating cucumbers to meet your weight loss goals? Cucumbers are known to be a “free” food as they contain zero calories and zero fat. Cucumbers are full of vitamins and are easy to grow in any backyard or pick up for a reasonable cost at your local grocery store.

For cucumber soup, you need two cucumbers, three spring onions, two cups fat free Greek yogurt, one fourth cup fresh mint and parsley. Peel and remove seeds of the cucumber, then place in a blender with the onions. Add the mint, parsley, and yogurt to the mix. Chill the soup and serve!

Chilled Cantaloupe Soup

I bet you never thought of making soup with cantaloupe, but this soup provides a creative way to eat more fruit which is necessary for weight loss. Not only does fruit fill you up, but it is full of water, vitamins, and nutrients that will help kick start your metabolism.

Simply blend the cantaloupe with a half of cup of orange juice, stir in one tablespoon of lime juice, add one and a half cups of additional orange juice, and season with cinnamon. You now have created three delicious soups that are sure to spice up your diet and help you on your path to reaching your weight loss goals.
