Don’t Eat After 9 PM


Many people who eat late at night often have many problems with doing so. People who are trying to lose weight often times will find out that eating large meals late in the evening will slow down their weight loss goals.

In this article, we will discuss some of the reasons that most health experts suggest that you don’t eat after 9, and some tips on how to stop eating late at night. After reading this article, you should not only be able to stop eating after 9, but you will know the reasons why you should avoid this habit if you really want to lose weight.

There are several reasons for not eating late at night but the most undesirable effect of this habit is that the calories you consume will not burn off quickly and can turn into body fat easily. Obviously, if you are trying to lose weight — body fat is the enemy!

Because you are consuming foods so close to your bedtime, your digestive system will be busy trying to process these foods and can often times cause problems sleeping. Many people who suffer from insomnia to not realize that this may be the cause of the trouble. If you absolutely must eat something before bed, make sure it is a small meal or snack that is made up of carbohydrates and not protein.

Now that you know some of the reasons for not eating after 9, here are some tips to help you control that urge to eat before bed;

Drink a Large Glass of Water — Water not only fills us up, but it can also trick the body into thinking that it is full.

Eat a Large Dinner – Eating a large dinner can also help to not feel hungry later in the evening. Especially if you eat a meal that is large and is made up of a good amount of protein. The protein will help make you feel full longer and can curb any cravings.

Believe it or not, boredom also plays a factor for many people who get the urge to snack late at night. Try to find something to keep you occupied whether it is reading, or some other hobby to help you avoid thinking about food.

By making some of these simple changes with your eating habits, you will be able to avoid late-night snacking. Not only can you lose weight, but you will also feel better by relieving the strain on your digestive system that this kind of eating can cause.
